High Street Project – The Mill
The Mill building, originally built in 1884, has been developed into an upscale condominium complex located within the historic district of Guilford, CT. The Mill is rich in history and has produced a multitude of items included lollipops and torpedo switches! The rear portion of Mill also doubled as a school during WWII. The women in town worked the factory to support the war effort and needed help getting their children to school; they brought the school to them!
The developer has transformed the Mill into 15 luxury townhouse style condominiums which has attached buyers looking for quality, high end finishes. To date, 12 of these desirable units have sold. Sale prices range from $625,000 to $1.1M and each unit is unique and maintains the industrial feel. Some units feature antique brick, steel, exposed beams and trusses as well as refurbished factory lighting. The developer sought to keep as many as the original features as possible including harvesting brick from a similarly aged mill down south for use on site.
